The Next Generation of Football Stars Will Come From Youtube
Spain’s hero last night was a 16 year-old boy, a product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, Lamine Yamal.
But where will the next generational talents come from?
My bet is that there is a new academy in town - the Creator Economy.
So that’s everything from Youtube to Instagram to Tiktok and everything inbetween.
And I do not mean the footballers are themselves Youtubers.
Although some are…
The Creator Economy is an incubator for football talent.
In the UK, rapper Stormzy started Merky FC in partnership with Adidas.
Not only does this club represent a refreshing new way to identify and cultivate talent - it will change the game.
It provides young people of Black heritage in London with career opportunities across the football industry.
I love the football joke slogan ‘Make The Assist’.
It’s more than just football.
Young people from across London will be able to use it to take part in not only in football but also explore creative passions in music, content creation and esports.
Creator Economy clubs to whole leagues.
Hot of the press, from a friend who is an agent for Berlin-based Nader…

This will for sure be a hotbed for young talent that has the potential to be scouted into the Bundesliga and beyon
he King’s League is a 7-a-side league in Barcelona established in 2023
Football has already shifted to the Creator Economy.
British Youtube group, the Sidemen, started a charity match against ‘Youtube Allstars’ back in 2016.
The last edition in 2023 attracted 2.7 million viewers across 78 different channels including Youtube, Tiktok and Twitch as well as filling a 62,000 capacity stadium.
They also raised £2.4mil for charity!
Football is one of the few topics that touches all corners of the world. It represents culture, human spirit, teamwork, passion, humility, hard work and much much more.
I’m hoping England can beat the Netherlands tonight. I’m predicting a nail-biting game followed by penalties!
